Orbis the online catalog includes everything but articles. For help please see: (ORBIS Tutorial)

WorldCat a database of over 50 million records of books and other materials held in thousands of academic, public, special and national libraries around the world. Use WorldCat to locate materials outside of Yale.
Are there books and that I can read on line?

What about general reference books such as dictionaries, encyclopedia's or almanacs?

Credo Reference: content from over 160 reference books and 40 publishers with nearly 2 million entries covering subjects as diverse as medicine, art, Shakespeare, and technology.

How do I search a particular newspaper or journal ?

Online Journals and Newspapers is a list of individual titles that are available remotely. Click on the journal or newspaper title to go directly to the source itself.

Via iCONN choose E-Journal Finder .

Some newspapers such as the Hartford Courant are most easily searched via iCONN, Click "Select iCONN Resources" and choose the Hartford Courant under the heading "Newspapers". The Hartford Courant Historical is under the "History" heading.
