Databases
Business & Company Resource Center (via iConn) Provides company profiles, rankings, investment reports etc. Search by SIC and NAICS. Inc includes information from major business directories such as Ward's .

KLD Socrates Contains social records on more than 3,000 US and international companies. Coverage includes the areas of environment, employee relations, diversity, community, product quality, and non-US operations. Company profiles also report any involvement in alcohol, adult entertainment, gambling, tobacco, military contracting, and nuclear power.

OneSource Quick search by company name to retrieve company fact sheet, build a company list with detailed search variables, or a list of competitors. Strong focus on North American companies.

Plunkett Research Online Provides business intelligence, industry trends, statistics, market research, sales leads & corporate profiles and in depth analysis of top companies.

Value Line Research Center and Value Line Historical Provide a comprehensive source of information and advice on approximately 1,700 stocks, more than 90 industries, the stock market, and the economy.

 

Public and Private Companies
Corporate Filings: All companies traded on the stock market in the US must file financial information with the SEC. View a list of the types of SEC filings. The Edgar Database which contains the actual filings, is available to the general public. See the databases listed below that Yale subscribes to for proprietary resources.

Databases
Thomson One filings are customizable and Thomson adds additional data. If a user wants only annual reports for a US or international company, or any US SEC document, start here; 1995+ .

Mergers, Acquisitions and Bankruptcies
Mergerstat Review tracks mergers and acquisitions of at least $1 million. Tip: search by title in Orbis, select Yale Internet Resource to retrieve this title in LexisNexis. LexisNexis Click on Business, then company profiles; use the source drop-down menu to bankruptcy reports.
