Most of the databases Yale subscribes to can be used from offcampus. You must install VPN in order to use them.  Here's how.

Once the VPN is installed most databases can be searched without a password.  The one exception to this is OneSource.

    How do I find journal or newspaper articles

    As a Yale MBA- E student you have access to hundreds of databases from school and home, once you've installed VPN (see Start Here tab).  This means that you can read the thousands of articles right from your computer. (there are some exceptions, but they are rare).  The most frequently used databases for journal articles are:

    Business Source Complete: Contains full text journals in "business, marketing, management, MIS, POM, accounting, finance and economics, as well as data... market research reports, country reports, company profiles, SWOT analyses and more." Contains many full text journals from 1990 to the present with the major journals in most fields going back to their inception.

     ABI Inform: Journal articles and abstracts pertaining to: business, management, accounting, auditing, economics, finance, taxation, marketing, advertising, personnel, banking, public administration, and nonprofit organizations.
    Database includes: ABI/Inform Global, ABI/Inform Trade & Industry, ABI Dateline (local and regional business publications) and selected Hoover’s Company Profiles.

    Factiva:Contains nearly 8,000 sources from 118 countries and 22 languages, and 120 continuously updated newswires plus same-day and archival coverage of The Wall Street Journal,Washington Post, The Globe and Mail, Financial Times and more and local newspapers from every corner of the globe. Newswires include Dow Jones, Reuters, Associated Press, Asia Pulse, and over 120 other continuously updating industry, press release and local newswires.Transcripts from BBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, CNN, NPR and more.

     

    How do I find financial information

    Thomson One  provides access to financial data on public companies, as well as merger and acquisition information and market data. Users can search and screen across databases to identify companies that meet your specific investment criteria as well as conduct peer analysis.

    Standard & Poor’s Net Advantage data and analysis on 1,500 publicly held U.S. corporations prepared by Standard & Poor’s

    Value Line Research Center and Value Line Historical Provide a comprehensive source of information and advice on approximately 1,700 stocks, more than 90 industries, the stock market, and the economy.
