Welcome

This LGBTQ studies subject guide was created to assist you with your research. The information here is intended to support the teaching and learning of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer studies. These resources are most clearly aligned with this field but because of the interdisciplinary nature of LGBTQ studies I suggest that you also check other general databases in fields that may intersect with your research (for example, African American Studies, History or Sociology). There are subject guides available for these fields as well.

If you have suggestions for additions to this guide feel free to contact me.

What's in this guide

In this guide you will discover resources at Yale and other institutions that may support LGBTQ studies. These include:

  • Finding books (both print & electronic)
  • Finding journal articles
  • Finding primary source materials (in the Yale collections, electronic collections and other special collections)

You will also find useful tips for organizing your research.
